My friends were talking about their PR applications getting approved and such and I was getting pretty annoyed because I've been checking the status of Ed’s citizenship application the last few weeks and it still says PENDING….it's been a year already!!
So I decided, what the heck! I’ll check the status online again. Logged on and thought I was seeing things. Wish someone had recorded my reaction because I swear… I looked at the screen and was about to log off thinking it was the usual PENDING status…but I looked again and it said APPROVED! I was really excited. I was smiling and practically jumping in my seat! Of course I called Ed to tell him the good news…
I get home and the confirmation letter from the ICA was in the mail….what else can I say? WOW! This is a double confirmation about Eddie’s soon to change status! He is going to become one of us…a Singaporean!
Needless to say, Lani was most thrilled with the news so she quickly wrote out the Singapore pledge for Ed so he could ‘learn’ it.
