A couple months of owning an air fryer and I had my use out of mine and I dare say, if my air fryer broke tomorrow, I'd already have had my money's worth of uses out of it.
You know, when you make meatballs the regular way, it is always so difficult to keep it’s ‘round’ shape. But cooking meatballs in an air fryer sure keeps it round! What is the best part about it? It’s healthy because you aren’t frying the meatballs in oil. Although I know some may use the oven.
For me, I used to fry them up and then toss it in the oven.
Anyway, I decided to try it in the air fryer today because a dear friend shared a recipe with me. I did read the recipe and got a grip of how it should be done but me being me, I went ahead doing it my way. Hey! I love the song “My Way” so why not?
“I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
and more, much more than this
I did it my way…”
So here’s what I did… and since I am a ‘semi-expert’ cook, it is hard for me to give you exact amounts and measurements and I usually cook my personal taste and texture.
What I used:
- Ground Beef or hamburger (if you’re American)
- Pepper
- Garlic powder
- Worcestershire sauce
- Italian seasoning
- Salt
- 1 whole egg
- Breadcrumbs
What I did:
- Mix all the ingredients in with the ground beef. I then made them into balls.
- Preheat the air fryer for about 10 minutes at 180C (or 360F).
- Put a baking sheet into the air fryer and put meatballs in.
- Cook for 8 minutes.
- Shake them up a little after the 8 minutes is done then put it back in for another 2 minutes.
And there you have it! MEATBALLS!
I never thought I would have so much use from an air fryer!
And with the meatballs I made meatball pasta!
